Regan McConaghty, Director
I’m Regan, the proud owner of RSM Builders Ltd, and I’ve spent the last nine years immersed in the building industry, honing my craft and developing a passion for creating beautiful, functional spaces. My journey began with a love for working with my hands, and it has evolved into a commitment to helping families in the Manawatu-Whanganui region build their forever homes.
I’ve had the privilege of working on a diverse range of projects, from group homes to high-end renovations and architectural builds. My experience has taught me the importance of clear communication and transparency throughout the building process, which is why we implement a 287-point quality assurance checklist and provide weekly updates to our clients. I believe that integrity, professionalism, family, and quality should be at the heart of everything we do.
One of my proudest industry achievements was securing third place in the Lower North Island Apprentice of the Year competition—a testament to my dedication and passion for craftsmanship. Beyond building, I find joy in playing golf, exploring the great outdoors, and spending time with family, friends, and my puppy, Lexi.
I've had the privilege of traveling and competing both nationally and internationally in golf, testing my abilities against New Zealand’s best players and, on occasion, the top golfers across Australasia. Ive been fortunate enough to wintwo Order of Merit Events to date and two Senior Club Championships at the Manawatu Golf Club. Since 2014, I’ve been a proud member of the Manawatu-Whanganui Men’s Golf Team, captaining the team in 2017, 2023, and 2024.
Sports have always been a significant part of my life—alongside golf, when at Palmerston North Boys High School, represented Manawatu in Cricket and Basketball at the age-grade level, gaining valuable experiences in teamwork, discipline, and competition.
Whether on the golf course, the field, or the construction site, I embrace challenges, continuous growth, and the pursuit of excellence.

Lexi, Site Supervisor in training
At just six months old, Lexi has already taken her first paw steps into the world of residential construction. With her keen eyes, boundless energy, and natural instinct to herd worers and keeping them in the right positions, she is becoming an essential part of crew.
Don't let her cute playful face fool you- Lexi takes her job very seriously, patrolling the perimeter, inspecting footwear is up to health and safety standard and that the lunch breaks are taken on time and puppy approved. Her favoruite day to day tasks include shadowing the foreman, chasing shadows and bringing joy and laughter to a tough day on site.
Lexi reminds everyone on site to slow down once in a while, appreciate the little things and always attack the day with a wagging tail. With her warm heart and tireless spirit she's not training to be a supervisor, she is the ehrt and soul of the site.
